Home cooking

I've started cooking at home recently, after months of keeping a non-oily stove.

Photobucket
Home dinner one night, with store-bought roast pork, which I've grilled in the oven (to a crispy skin).

These ready to eat wanton soup from CP brand is fabulous...one of the best frozen food around.

Pasta dinner tonight:

With grilled spicy pork sausage, fresh brown and white mushrooms, assorted veggies and leftover pacific clams.

While being grilled in the mini oven, the sausages somehow caused a little fire to be ignited in the oven! :-O

The oil dripping must have sparked off the small fire on the aluminium foil! >_<"

Anyway, it was an extra tasty pasta dinner. ;)

And I love my pasta keeper. It has holes that conveniently dispense exactly 100g or 200g of pasta.

Tar Pao Dinner

On a whim, I went to tar pao these for dinner tonight.

All in environment-unfriendly take-out boxes

Tar-dah!!

From Max Cafe - one pork sausage and the other with herbs + 2 sides and came with a bowl of chicken corn soup.

The sauteed veggies of carrots, zucchini, brinjal (non-soggy at all!), cauliflower & whole garlic cloves (browned) were absolutely delicious. I feel like trying to 偷师 from the chef!

Photobucket
Something's hidden underneath the sio pek chye - from the food court above the bus interchange.

Photobucket
It's a big chunk of pan-grilled saba (one-half of a large mackeral) sitting on a bed of sauteed, sweet onions. The set came with rice and seaweed soup.

Photobucket
Don't think this is just any plain soup. It's simple but oh, so delicious! I don't know why, it just taste very good. I think I like the stall owner's style of cooking.

It was a good and satisfying dinner.

Endangered species of the epicurean kind

Heh heh heh!

Temptations for KSN?

Photobucket

I found them today...can you believe it?

I remembered your "gian-ness" for Maling luncheon meat, and decided to drop by at the provision shop.

Photobucket

They are newly-produced.

Photobucket

We can have a party, but hor, see how much fat there is!?!

Photobucket

怕了吗?

Apparently, this shop I bought from has a "special connection" with the supplier and hence they could get these limited cans. There were only a few cans left, and I grabbed 4 cans only ...coz I was very loaded with stuff already (plastic rack to make cat condo, packs of plant fertilisers, new cat bed, cat grass boxes, etc.) :P

Will find some way to pass a can to KSN...or if you happen to drop by for dinner at your friend's place, let me know.

Anyone else would like to have a can too?

Cauliflower dish & grilled pork chops

This is a simple yet very satisfying dinner that is easy and a time-saver. Just remember to marinate the pork loin the night before.

Grilled pork chops and vegetable dish of leftovers

Just use whatever's available in the fridge - cauliflower, carrots and leftover cabbage

Served with rice, the vegetables shown are enough to serve 2.5 to 3 persons, but are gobbled up by the two of us.

:P
