Some of them are quite yummy too!
Vegetarian sheng mian in claypot...or erm...aluminium pot - very nice, but 生面 is not something in my usual diet
Vegetarian Tom Yam beehoon - not hot enough!
Salad with a difference - carrots, red cabbage, beetroot, marng guang, dou miao and alfafa sprouts. Is marng guang called turnip in English? What about in Chinese?
The sweet, lemony mayo salad dressing was superb...so yummy that I drank the whole thing...not good :P
Vegetarian Lor Mee - very nice, as long as the gravy tastes good
Organic nasi bryani - ok lah...no kick one
Vegetarian kueh chap from another stall - didn't like the plate of liao, nor the chilli sauce
Ahh....the intriguing vegetarian pig's stomach soup beehoon (猪肚汤米粉).
The herbal soup is peppery and nice, and the slices of pig's stomach really look so real and had a crunchy taste. Pieces of mock mutton and pork were also added.
Organic tau pok...for my afternoon snack
Closed up of tau pok ingredients, smothered with organic mayo... no wonder it tastes good.
Vegetarian curry mutton noodles.... Eeeee.... it's more starchy than gravy, and it's so steaming hot that it's hard to eat.
Vegetarian prawn noodles, but without prawn, not even the mock prawn. It had pieces of mock mutton (?), pork and sotong (squid) and lots of yummy kang kong and bean sprouts - nice soup wins the day.
The pork ribs rice set - the rice was very fragrant... it's like eating claypot rice flavoured with a hint of 5-spice powder. Yummz! The accompaniments were average.
Vegetarian chye png (vegetable rice) - with mustard leaves (大菜 - one of my favourite), long beans and curry beef! I don't consume beef at all, but vegetarian beef is ok. Heheh! The curry was very fragrant.
Mock fried ikan bilis made from mushrooms
To be consumed in moderation due to the high sodium content
Missing photo: Vegetarian black vinegar mee suah。

Home cooking
I've started cooking at home recently, after months of keeping a non-oily stove.
Home dinner one night, with store-bought roast pork, which I've grilled in the oven (to a crispy skin).
Beijing cabbage with canned vegetarian 罗汉斋
Bean sprouts with ready-soaked black fungus from the market
Tofu with minced pork
Dinner of wanton soup and sweet peas stir-fried with pacific clams
These ready to eat wanton soup from CP brand is fabulous...one of the best frozen food around.
Pasta dinner tonight:
With grilled spicy pork sausage, fresh brown and white mushrooms, assorted veggies and leftover pacific clams.
While being grilled in the mini oven, the sausages somehow caused a little fire to be ignited in the oven! :-O
The oil dripping must have sparked off the small fire on the aluminium foil! >_<"
Anyway, it was an extra tasty pasta dinner. ;)
And I love my pasta keeper. It has holes that conveniently dispense exactly 100g or 200g of pasta.

Tar Pao Dinner
On a whim, I went to tar pao these for dinner tonight.
All in environment-unfriendly take-out boxes
Tar-dah!!
From Max Cafe - one pork sausage and the other with herbs + 2 sides and came with a bowl of chicken corn soup.
The sauteed veggies of carrots, zucchini, brinjal (non-soggy at all!), cauliflower & whole garlic cloves (browned) were absolutely delicious. I feel like trying to 偷师 from the chef!
Something's hidden underneath the sio pek chye - from the food court above the bus interchange.
It's a big chunk of pan-grilled saba (one-half of a large mackeral) sitting on a bed of sauteed, sweet onions. The set came with rice and seaweed soup.
Don't think this is just any plain soup. It's simple but oh, so delicious! I don't know why, it just taste very good. I think I like the stall owner's style of cooking.
It was a good and satisfying dinner.

More Berries
The first time I ate fresh blackberries.
Again, Fairprice Finest were selling them at reasonable nice prices.
I'd thought they're like black-coloured raspberries, but in fact, they're totally different.
Raspberries have hollow centres, whereas blackberries are like many tiny, little berries clinging onto a central "vine". I think blackberries are nicer.
Eat fresh!
