More Vegetarian Food

Some of them are quite yummy too!

Photobucket
Vegetarian sheng mian in claypot...or erm...aluminium pot - very nice, but 生面 is not something in my usual diet

Photobucket
Vegetarian Tom Yam beehoon - not hot enough!

Photobucket
Salad with a difference - carrots, red cabbage, beetroot, marng guang, dou miao and alfafa sprouts. Is marng guang called turnip in English? What about in Chinese?

The sweet, lemony mayo salad dressing was superb...so yummy that I drank the whole thing...not good :P

Photobucket
Vegetarian Lor Mee - very nice, as long as the gravy tastes good

Photobucket
Organic nasi bryani - ok lah...no kick one

Photobucket
Vegetarian kueh chap from another stall - didn't like the plate of liao, nor the chilli sauce

Photobucket
Ahh....the intriguing vegetarian pig's stomach soup beehoon (猪肚汤米粉).
The herbal soup is peppery and nice, and the slices of pig's stomach really look so real and had a crunchy taste. Pieces of mock mutton and pork were also added.

Photobucket
Organic tau pok...for my afternoon snack

Photobucket
Closed up of tau pok ingredients, smothered with organic mayo... no wonder it tastes good.

Photobucket
Vegetarian curry mutton noodles.... Eeeee.... it's more starchy than gravy, and it's so steaming hot that it's hard to eat.

Photobucket
Vegetarian prawn noodles, but without prawn, not even the mock prawn. It had pieces of mock mutton (?), pork and sotong (squid) and lots of yummy kang kong and bean sprouts - nice soup wins the day.

Photobucket
The pork ribs rice set - the rice was very fragrant... it's like eating claypot rice flavoured with a hint of 5-spice powder. Yummz! The accompaniments were average.

Photobucket
Vegetarian chye png (vegetable rice) - with mustard leaves (大菜 - one of my favourite), long beans and curry beef! I don't consume beef at all, but vegetarian beef is ok. Heheh! The curry was very fragrant.

Mock fried ikan bilis made from mushrooms

To be consumed in moderation due to the high sodium content

Missing photo: Vegetarian black vinegar mee suah。

You eat a lot eh? :)

Try not to take too much mock meat. They are high in fat and sodium. Comparing an equal portion of mock duck and real duck, the mock version has 100 more calories, 12g more fat and 555mg more sodium. Even though mock meat is made from gluten and soy protein, there is little nutritional value as most of the nutritional benefits are lost when they put them through high heat and pressures to bring about the meaty texture.

That's why if I take vegetarian food, they are in their natural form like tofu, vege.
